Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) is the UAE’s premier business and events complex, located on Sheikh Zayed Road in the heart of Dubai. Spanning over 466,000 square metres of built-up area, it is one of the largest convention and exhibition centres in the Middle East. While primarily known as a business and trade exhibition venue, DWTC also hosts concerts, award shows, and major international events year-round.

Getting There
Metro: DWTC is one of the best-served large venues for public transport in Dubai. The World Trade Centre Metro Station (Red Line) connects directly to the venue via an air-conditioned walkway — you can arrive completely without stepping outside. This makes it excellent for hot-weather events. From the station, follow signs to the exhibition halls of your event.
Taxi/Careem/Uber: Drop-off points vary by hall. For the main Zabeel and Sheikh Saeed halls, the primary entrance on Sheikh Zayed Road is the standard drop-off. Give the driver the specific hall or event name when booking.
Parking: DWTC has multiple multi-storey car parks throughout the complex. Parking rates apply (typically AED 5-8/hour). During major trade shows like GITEX or Dubai Airshow, parking fills extremely quickly — metro is strongly recommended on busy days.
Typical Events at DWTC
DWTC hosts an enormous range of events:
- Major trade shows: GITEX Technology Week (one of the world’s largest tech exhibitions), Arab Health, The Big 5, Dubai Airshow, and hundreds more
- Consumer shows: Dubai Shopping Festival pavilions, car shows, food festivals
- Concerts and entertainment: Large-scale outdoor concerts in the DWTC plaza areas; indoor concerts in configured halls
- Award ceremonies: Major regional business and entertainment award shows
- Sporting exhibitions: Indoor sports showcases and martial arts events
The Arena (Zabeel Hall)
Zabeel Hall is the most versatile of DWTC’s spaces and can be configured for entertainment events including concerts and sporting shows. It does not have the dedicated theatrical infrastructure of Coca-Cola Arena but can accommodate large productions for the right events.
Practical Tips
DWTC is a large and spread-out complex — know your hall before you arrive. Walking between the furthest halls can take 15-20 minutes. The complex has numerous cafes and restaurants on-site, plus the attached Address hotel with additional dining. Air conditioning throughout makes it comfortable regardless of Dubai’s heat.
Ticket and Entry Notes
Many DWTC events are trade shows requiring professional registration rather than public ticket purchase. Public events and concerts are ticketed through standard channels (Platinumlist, Virgin Megastore/Eros STN). Check the official DWTC events calendar for upcoming public events. For entertainment events that sell out, secondary market platforms may have availability.
